Charlie Swinbourne on set

CHARLIE SWINBOURNE - WRITER

Charlie's writing expresses the world he grew up in and challenges attitudes - in the most entertaining way possible.

His first script, Coming Out, was about a young man 'coming out' as being deaf. As well as winning several awards, Coming Out was an online hit with over 100,000 views on YouTube. After directing two comedy sketches about grumpy old men (Four Deaf Yorkshiremen) Charlie wrote Departure Lounge, a half hour drama for the Community Channel.

Inspiration for Hands Solo came from being a TV researcher for three years. Charlie saw how factual documentary series were made and manipulated, and mined those experiences to great effect.
